Wednesday Wish List {The House of Belonging Designs & Birthday Wishes to My Baby Boy!!}

June 4, 2014

Happy Wednesday friends!!

Today I am sharing one of my absolute favorite shops on Etsy,

The shop owner, Tiffini Kilgore is an amazing woman with a huge heart!!

You can read more about her and her amazing journey here on her blog.

I have purchased several signs of hers and Tiffini has created three

custom signs for me as well.... I still have a few more on my "wish list"

as well.... Here are just a few I continually droll over....

I do intend to purchase one or more of these fine pieces in the near future!

I simply love having words of truth and wisdom hung all around my home

as daily reminders of what life has blessed me with and what I have yet to

learn. Some folks like to have art on their walls or simply nothing at all, but

for me nothing is more beautiful than the spoken word written humbly for

all to see. Tiffini truly knows how to make words come alive through

these signs and I am so grateful to her and her spirit.

Here is my favorite piece I had asked Tiffini to create for me in memory

of my mother who was taken from us nearly four years ago...

For my family and I these words bring comfort to our hearts

knowing that my mom is safe and free of pain while always with us....

And a little bit of heaven too....

Please take a moment to check out The House of Beloning Designs

and enjoy the rest of your week!!

I'm off to celebrate my little man's 2nd Birthday!!!

I had to do it!!!

Wishing my little man a very Happy 2nd Birthday!!

Mommy, Daddy & Gracie love you tons!!!

Our Home {Before and After ~ Part I}

May 29, 2014

Have you ever looked back on something and wished you had paid more

attention to detail or wish you knew then what you know now??

When it comes to our home and how we went about things I totally

wish Pinterest existed six years ago, for if it had I'm pretty sure I would

be totally satisfied with how we did things and the décor decisions I had

made... In any case a home is a work in progress and tonight I'd like to share

our work in progress with some before photos of how our home looked

before we purchased it, during and now... To me it still needs a ton of

work, but that is more on the décor and organization end more so than

anything. When I look back at exactly what we took on we really have

come a long way. I just wish I knew then what I've learned now....

Not only about my design style, but about the ever growing needs of our

family....but then again, I guess my styles and ideas will always be

changing. Hopefully for the better!!

So here are some before and after photos (progress I like to call it). I'm truly

never done making up my mind!

It truly took vision to put the pieces of our home back

together from where it started!!

Our hallway before

Our hallway now
Hallway/kitchen wall before

Hallway now
Kitchen/Living room before
Kitchen/Living Room now
Although I love our home as it is, I can't help but wonder, "what if"?

What if I had left the sliding doors and replaced them with French

doors going into the four season porch? What if I had opened up the kitchen

completely and combined the kitchen and dining room for a completely

open floor plan?? What if this?? What if that??

I can drive myself mad trying to think this way...

So instead,  I'm just going to be thankful for what we accomplished and

let it be.... Rome wasn't built in a day, nor will my home ever be as

perfect as I would like... But it's perfect for our family at this very moment

and that is truly all I can ask for....

They only thing I really need to work on is filling up all the empty walls!

More on that and part II of our before and after coming soon!!

Check back tomorrow for my Favorite Home Friday feature!!

The Porch {Inspiration Board}

March 29, 2014

Hi friends!!

Hope you had a great week! Not to much going on around here.... I'm

slowly making my way into our master bedroom to paint. If you haven't

noticed I am a procrastinator in every way, especially when it comes to

making over a room. I think it's pretty much summed up to fear of not

loving what I'm about to conquer.... This happens to me all the time!!

The fear of not loving the end result and the thought of having to start all

over just takes over my mind. I can't begin to tell you how many times I

have changed my mind on the paint color of our bedroom; mind you we

just repainted last spring! It's a problem I must get over if I'm going to get

anywhere with all the updates that are needed in our home! So right after

I share this post with you I'm headed to the paint store!! Yikes!!!

Wish me luck!!

Today I am going to share the inspiration board I have put together for our

four season porch.... For the last six years this space has been used basically

as a storage room. This is the one space in our home that truly gives me

anxiety. You see we don't have a garage or shed at the moment so this

lovely space houses all our outdoor needs as well as any other items

we can't seem to find room for. If I were to snap a picture right now you

will find all my outdoor pillows, a couple of bikes, a small 4-wheeler, tons

of boxes, a few lacrosse sticks, tons of shoes and probably a partridge in

a pear tree!! Haha! just kidding! But seriously lord knows what else is

hiding in that adorable little space with some huge potential.

Here are a couple of photos that I took of the space right after I had all new

windows and the hardwood floor installed.

Not the best photos, but you get the idea.

This space is on the top of my to do list this summer.

I envision myself sitting in here with a good book and a nice hot cup

of coffee while I watch the kids run about in the yard....

Ok... enough of the dreaming.

Here is what I put together so far....

The only thing missing is a nice little cozy love seat....

What do you think??

Do you have a space in your home that's screaming for an update?

If so I'd love to hear about it!!

Happy Weekend!!

It's in the Closet {Jewlery Organization}

January 30, 2014

Hi all!!

Hope your having a great week.... Seems like this winter is never ending!!

Can't complain too much because all this freezing, must remain in doors

weather is actually keeping me busy in doors!

I recently purchased this adorable framed burlap cork board from

Home Goods even though I had not a clue where I was going to put it.

Then just the other day I was looking for a pair of earrings I had ordered

online over the summer and I just couldn't seem to find them.... which gave

me an idea...

I decided to hang it up in my mess of a closet to some what organize all my
earrings.... It actually works great for my large statement necklaces too!!

This adorable necklace holder was also a non-planned Home Goods find!
I really love how it compliments the burlap cork board!

I love how I also have some space for sentimental items... I'm using the one and only perfume fragrance my mom used to wear as a bracelet holder as well as a teddy bear angel a dear old friend gave me years ago for a birthday gift.... I love using sentimental items for décor... Makes them all the more special to look at.

This cute little box was given to me by my Gracie.... It was her very first "school" gift. I love that it has a place now where I can see it everyday!

I had planned on actually putting up this little mirror a while ago in this exact spot, but I'm glad I waited and found the perfect piece that is actually useful! I will have to find a small standing mirror to put in here... Back to Home Goods I go!! That's really not such a bad thing!

Cute right?

Sometimes the best décor and organization ideas are not planned and just

happen!! That is exactly what happened in this case! I always say if you see

something you absolutely love in a store and keep going back to it don't

pass it up!! Even if you have no idea what to do with it... You can always

return it, gift it or in this case wait it out and find the prefect place for it!!

Come back soon, I will be posting picks of our master bedroom as soon as

I can decide on a paint color!

Hint.... The color behind the burlap frame is one of them!!

Stay warm!!
