Remember When {Another Living Room Update}

Happy Sunday!!!
I am so excited about this post I can hardly contain myself!! A while back I posted about our large empty wall in our living room. If you missed the post you can find it here. We finally received our new sign of my absolute favorite quote Remember When.... I had the sign custom made here. Now our large empty living room wall is home to this huge sign with a message my children, nieces, nephews, family and friends can read and keep with them always.... Putting up the painters tape to see exactly how large I wanted the sign really paid off. The sign is large, but absolutely perfect for the space.... I am so very pleased with it's new home....

What do you think?
Do you have a favorite quote?
Have a fantastic week!!!

Living Room Update {Fall Pillows}

Happy Monday Friends!!!
I've been meaning to share some updated photos of our living room with you. Not too long after I shared our living room redo with you no sooner did I take down the large IKEA frames off one of the walls. It was just too much with the gallery wall... So I've been trying to come up with something for that empty wall, but nothing I absolute love has motivated me so it stays empty for now..... More on that another day!
So now that it is "officially" fall I decided to switch out the pillows on the sectional. With the help of my blogger friend and designer Jill Hinson we came up with a great neutral pillow selection! Hope you like them!!

My favorite is the Union Jack linen pillow in the middle. I purchased mine here.
Have a great week all!!!

Perfectly Pumpkin {Chocolate Chip Cookies}

Well aren't you so proud? This is my third post in three days!! Yay!! I figured I owed you all a few since I've been MIA for a few weeks!
Since the weather here in CT has taken a nice change for the "cooler" finally I figured it would be a great day to share my favorite pumpkin chocolate chip cookie recipe. It's super easy and great to do with the kiddos, especially since you don't even need a mixer!! These are so good and really do not have that much sugar in them which a good because it's really impossible to eat just one!!
Hope you enjoy them as much as we do!!

Perfectly {Pumpkin} Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients:

1 cup canned pumpkin
1 egg
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 cups all purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp milk
1 TB vanilla extract
1 11oz bag chocolate chips

Instructions:

Mix pumpkin, sugar, vegetable oil, egg and vanilla in a large bowl. In a separate bowl whisk together flour, baking powder, cinnamon and salt. Dissolve the baking soda with the milk and add to the wet ingredients and mix well. Add the flour mixture to the pumpkin mixture and mix well. Fold in chocolate chips. Line baking sheet with parchment paper or baking mat. Drop cookies onto baking sheet using a medium size ice cream scoop.
Bake at 350 for 10-13 minutes depending on your oven.
Let cool completely as these cookies are very moist and will fall apart in your hand if they are picked up when they are still hot.
I like to dollop a small scoop of  French Vanilla Cool Whip on top of each before serving!!

Currently Coveting {Teal Green}

Happy Tuesday friends!!!
As I've mentioned before I have this "To Do" list that is a mile long with so many things that I just need to get done, but my mind is completely pre-occupied with updating our master bedroom. I have hundreds of bedroom ideas on Pinterest that I adore but I just can not get this one particular bedroom by one of my favorite designers Anisa from Milk and Honey Home out of my mind!!. I am totally in love with the deep teal green color on the walls but I just can't commit!!! I hate painting and if I don't end up loving the color I just dread having to paint again.... So I'll just keep drooling over these pictures until I get the courage to just paint the room and see how it looks! So for now here is the bedroom I am currently coveting.....

Gorgeous right??? I adore the bedding as well.....
Please excuse me while I drool...
What are you currently coveting?

Vacation Sign DIY {That Wasn't}

I know.... Horrible. This is my first post in almost a month. I've been extremely busy being a mom, making cupcakes, working at my "everyday" job, being a mom... and getting anything and everything done that is NOT on my "TO DO" list....
This DIY vacation sign really was NOT meant to be, but it came out a lot better than expected so I thought I would take a moment and fill you in on how exactly it became my very first DIY sign.... Please forgive the lack of any pictures other than the finished project, but again this wasn't meant to be a DIY post....
It all began as my daughter and I stopped at Micheal's for ONE thing. Yes, I said one thing, but really who in the world goes into Michael's and comes out with only one item. Exactly - no one!! Ok, so as I was looking for that one item I came across the last wood arrow sign on the shelf and I snagged it as they never last.
When I got home I had a hundred ideas going through my head as to what exactly I was going to do "create" with it. First I was going to use our street name... ehhh too boring! Then I thought I would use our city... Ehhh.... over it. I really needed some thing short, sweet and that was two short words rather than one large word that looked awkward on the short arrow.... Then AHHHH HAAA!!! It came to me (only four hours later) our trip to the Cape!! CAPE COD!! Perfection!
I started with painting the arrow with black acrylic paint. I only used one coat because the next step was to paint it with two coats of my favorite Annie Sloan chalk paint in Old White... I LOVE this stuff it works miracles!! So, two coats, let dry completely! While it dried the next step was finding the perfect font as well as the perfect size. I have to admit, not an easy task and I must have printed out 10 different fonts in 20 different sizes, but in the end it is a MUST DO step and really the hardest part! So part one paint, dry and find your perfect font and size. Next, scribble the back of the paper with a pencil.... Make sure to place the paper exactly where you want the letters to appear cause there's no turning back. After placement and tracing the letters I used a black paint pen and filled in the words....
This last step it HUGE. Let the paint dry completely before you sand to distress!!! OMG. I ruined this sign the first time because I am so impenitent and just has to get it done ASAP!! I didn't let the paint dry and after I sanded all the black paint smudged!! RUINED!! And sadly.... I had to repaint and do the process all over again!
So after I did all the steps over again I let it dry, then sanded and sealed it with Annie Sloan's soft wax. I DID NOT put wax on the letters because I knew it would bleed the black paint on the letters!!
Although it wasn't an easy DIY I am proud that I completed it and it turned out just the way I had envisioned! I hope all your DIY's go better than this one!!! Good Luck!!
Have a great week friends!!
