Wednesday Wish List {Modani}

Happy Wednesday friends!!

As promised I'm sharing my Wish List Wednesday feature for this month! I'm super excited to share this wish list with you today!!

Around this time 18 years ago I was starting my first week of college and moving into my very first dorm room.... Looking back eighteen years ago, how I wish I could go back and totally revamp my dorm room and be able to add my own style to it!! I created a fun mood board that reflects my own personal décor style with a fun edge to it!! Knowing what I know now about design and what I love, I know that I would want a cozy, sophisticated place of my own!! Very posh and stylish... because if there's anytime to be fun and unique with your style, it's for sure in a place that you know you won't be forever... A place you can be funky and break your own rules!! I recently learned about Modani.com!! This site is filled with sophisticated, modern style furniture and décor and the best part is  they have locations all over the country!! Now, I'm usually not drawn to modern furniture but there are so many pieces on this site that just jumped out at me and that I adore!!! So....Here is what my dorm room would look like today, which I really wouldn't mind making over my "mom cave" to look exactly like this!!

I know I always say I'm a county girl at heart.... but I guess you can take the girl out of the city, but you can't take the city out of the girl!! It's still ok to dream right??

Wednesday Wish List {Faux Fireplace}

 Happy Wednesday!!
  Today I'm sharing something really unique that has been on my wish list for a while....

There is something about a fireplace that I have always loved. I grew up with one in my childhood home and it always made cold nights feel cozy, as wells as adding a great deal of character to our home...and I love the idea of having a mantel to decorate and hang stockings up for the holidays...

I had always planned on having a fireplace in my own home, but sometimes you can't always get what you want!! Don't get me wrong, I love our home and when we purchased it almost seven years ago we had thought of putting in a wood burning stove, but sadly, we really don't have the space for it. I also looked into an electric fireplace, but I felt spending all that money for the look of a fireplace wasn't wise when in the end would cost us money to use. So I put it on the "no go" list and moved on.... Until now....

Honestly, my favorite part of having a fire place is the mantel and all I see all over Pinterest are faux fireplaces. Such an excellent solution to obtain the look of a fire place minus the heat part, which I'm ok with!! Here are some of my favorites!!

Now all I need to do is find out exactly how to go about building one of these and the most difficult part... talking my hubby into it!!

Wednesday Wish List & Favorite Home Friday {Two for One!!}

Hi friends!! Are you all in for a treat today!! My family and I will be heading to Lake George in a few days and I decided to combine two of my weekly features, my Wednesday Wish List and my Favorite Home Friday into one post!! Today I am sharing another gorgeous Connecticut home that is for sale. This home is for sure on my dream home "wish list"!!

 This particular home is a Landmark Revolutionary War Colonial, The Daniel Godfrey House, located in the heart of Weston, Connecticut. A 1760's period style home with all the modern amenities. This home is very similar to the home I shared with you last week that I also found on Zillow. My absolute favorite feature of this home is that almost every room has a huge fire place!! It is truly an amazing home and I am so excited to share it with you!!

 

 

So much to love about this home!!

Wednesday Wish List {Stella & Dot}

Hi friends!!

Several months back when I started my Wednesday Wish List feature, my soul purpose was to share what I am loving currently and feel that you all would adore too!!

 Today I am so excited to share this weeks wish list with you!!

I have always heard about Stella & Dot, but never had the opportunity to attend a trunk show.... A trunk show is pretty much a cool little party where a Stella & Dot stylist comes to your home and shares all the lovely items available for purchase.... An excellent excuse to have a party if you ask me... and totally worth checking out all that pretty eye candy!!

I am in the process of planning my very first trunk show through a friend of mine who just so happens to be a Stella & Dot stylist!!

When I spoke to her recently she told me to make a "wish list" for her so she could put those items together for my trunk show!!

How easy was that??!! Someone telling me to create a wish list!!

If you have browsed through the Stella & Dot website you can clearly see how easily a wish list can be created... You can actually create your own directly on the website!! I decided to put together my own Stella & Dot wish list.... These are just a few "must haves" on my list!!

Wednesday Wish List {Makita Power Tools}

Hi friends!!

It's time once again for my Wednesday Wish List feature!!

If you follow me on Instagram you will notice I have been having my hand at re-purposing furniture.... Not an easy task especially when you have never refinished furniture before, and even more difficult without the proper tools.... And by "tools" I'm talking power tools!!

There have been so many times I haven't followed through with a DIY or other large project for one simple reason.... No power tools!! Sure my husband has the basics on hand, but I really would like to have some tools of my own and be able to use them on my own at any given moment....

So I've been searching online for the "best" power tools and holy cow are there thousands of different kinds!! I mean I thought buying lipstick was hard, but power tools?? A whole new world my friends!!

After researching and reading all kinds of reviews I was even more lost.... And then I started thinking about what exactly do I need as a beginner using power tools?? I researched that as well and I came across this....
