Wednesday Wish List {Stella & Dot}

July 30, 2014

Hi friends!!
Several months back when I started my Wednesday Wish List feature, my soul purpose was to share what I am loving currently and feel that you all would adore too!!
 Today I am so excited to share this weeks wish list with you!!
I have always heard about Stella & Dot, but never had the opportunity to attend a trunk show.... A trunk show is pretty much a cool little party where a Stella & Dot stylist comes to your home and shares all the lovely items available for purchase.... An excellent excuse to have a party if you ask me... and totally worth checking out all that pretty eye candy!!
I am in the process of planning my very first trunk show through a friend of mine who just so happens to be a Stella & Dot stylist!!
When I spoke to her recently she told me to make a "wish list" for her so she could put those items together for my trunk show!!
How easy was that??!! Someone telling me to create a wish list!!
If you have browsed through the Stella & Dot website you can clearly see how easily a wish list can be created... You can actually create your own directly on the website!! I decided to put together my own Stella & Dot wish list.... These are just a few "must haves" on my list!!

My absolute favorite out of all of this cuteness are the adorable charm necklace. I love that you are able to add personalization and all the adorable little charms that you can add on as well....
There are so many cute and stylish ways to wear these necklaces. For tons of inspiration and style ideas and to stay up to date with anything and  everything Stella & Dot, follow them on Instagram, Twitter & Facebook!
You can also keep up with what Stella & Dot are loving on Pinterest!!
Are you loving Stella & Dot? If so what's your absolute fall must have??

*This is not a sponsored post just sharing what I love*

Thinking Outside the Box {Unique Rustic Wedding Cupcake Stand}

July 28, 2014

Hi Friends!!
Hope you had a great weekend....
As you all know we are in peak wedding season and today I thought I would share a unique cupcake stand I used for a wedding I did four years ago this past weekend.... I had the extreme honor of baking 200 cupcakes, a two-tier wedding cake and about 190 heart shaped cookies for a dear childhood friend of mine that just so happened to be my daughters pre-school teacher at the time.... She meant a great deal to me (still does) and I really wanted her day to be super special.... I had free rein when it came to cupcake design and display and I wanted something that people would never forget.... something that would really go with the rustic, country theme of the wedding which took place in an old barn....
I searched hi and low for the "perfect" cupcake stand. Then I had an idea....
And here is where my idea took me.....

Why not use a gorgeous vintage plant stand as a cupcake display!!
My apologies for the blurry photo, but I was not blogging when this photo was taken and I was using my old camera phone....
When I saw this plant stand my head was spinning!! I had found the perfect cupcake stand and was it ever!! It went fabulously with the rustic décor and all I had to do to make it work was place cardboard on the tiers to ensure the cupcakes wouldn't fall through.... That's it!!! Thinking outside the box is key when creating something unique and all your own!!
The bride and groom were so pleased and the guests could not get over the fact that this was a simple plant stand!!
I can honestly tell you that I can not remember for the life of me where I purchased this gorgeous plant stand, but I do know that all I did was a Google search for a tiered plant stand and there are so many unique options that come up... Here are just a few I recently found.
Some are more expensive than others, but you can always "DIY" an inexpensive one as long as it is sturdy and has good bones!!

The possibilities are endless!!
And if you can't find what your looking for online, try heading to local tag sales or even your local florist!! Check Craig's List as well under "free stuff", you never know what trash someone is getting rid of  that you can turn into your treasure.... or cupcake stand!!
Happy wedding season!!

Rustic DIY Wedding Invite Display & Hallway Gallery Wall {Sources}

July 24, 2014

Hi friends!!
Not to long ago I shared our hallway gallery wall with you.
If you missed that post you can catch up here.

Since then many of you have emailed me asking where I purchased the frames and letters for the roman numerals so today I thought I would share the details and sources for you!!

Here is a photo of the completed gallery wall.

I still don't get tired of looking at this wall!!
Pretty much everything you see on this wall I already had on hand....
I have always had an obsession with picture frames and have collected them since I was in high school and as you can tell from all the framed photos all over our home, I love the idea of framing family photos, kids art work and often sentimental items, like the little note I wrote to myself that is framed in the upper right hand corner of this gallery wall....
I also have recently started collecting letters and typography of all kinds.... I love words and love them all over my home, especially those that carry meaning to our family....
One item on this wall that I frequently get asked questions about is the rustic frame right over the thermostat with our wedding invite.... Interestingly enough, that was actually a DIY that I never thought would get so much attention.... guess I read that one wrong!!
Here is a photo of the frame I found at Target (I purchased the distressed wood color) not to long ago....

 I loved the little key whole and although I didn't have a specific need for it at the time I knew that one day it would find a home.
When I was putting this gallery wall together I knew I wanted our wedding invite on it and I also knew I didn't just want to pop it in a frame.... I wanted it to be displayed with a subtle uniqueness.... Then I remembered I had this cute little frame from Target and I got right to work!!

All I did was paint over the frame with some Anne Sloan Chalk Paint in Old White , distressed it with sandpaper, gave it a nice coat of Anne Sloan clear wax and then carefully removed the glass and simply hot glued a mini clothes pin to the middle and Whaaalaaa!!

A unique rustic little frame to display our wedding invite!!
And the best thing about it is if some day I get tired of looking at it (most likely not!!) I can switch it out anytime and the frame stays on the wall!!
A super quick and easy photo display solution!!
Here are the sources for the other items featured in this gallery wall.

Roman Numeral Letters ~ Michaels

Life is beautiful frame ~ frame is from Michaels and I DIY'd the letters with my little stamp kit, also from Michaels

The Chalkboard I found on Etsy.

The "W" ~ Ballard Designs

The brown grain frame at the very bottom ~ My Sweet Savannah on Etsy

All other frames in this gallery wall were purchased randomly at
Home Goods!!

Hope that helps and inspires you to start you own gallery wall!!
Thanks for stopping by!!
